Letter Box is something users have been asking for 3DS almost from birth, do not forget that Nintendo's own DS had a similar sort of chat (with many fewer features, of course). Nintendo is responding appropriately to requests and is increasing communication between users.

Nintendo Mail lets you create and send messages through StreetPass and SpotPass to people that you already built your "Friends List" in your console. Simply use the stylus of Nintendo 3DS to write or draw your cards animated cards.

You can also give your personal touch using the photos you've taken with the camera adding 3DS or sending short voice messages recorded with the application 3DS Sound. When your friend receives a card, this will be encouraged as is they’ve written, so unleash your imagination and leave your friends speechless when received.

Nintendo Postbox is one of the exciting new applications for Nintendo 3DS, which creates a kind of free environment, a blackboard on which to draw at will, doodle, write and type text, sound effects, post photos and share them immediately through networking via Wi -Fi. Obviously it is also possible to exploit the 3D part. Postbox comes with the latest system update that also brings access to the service eShop to download additional content.

StreetPass will use the wireless connection of the console to send a message to all the friends of your "Friends list" that are near you and have your console in sleep mode, while the SpotPass option lets you choose the recipients of your message from your contact list, no matter what city they are, and send the message only to them using the console's online connection.
