Playstation Vita will not be restricted to any region

I purchased the Japanese Playstation Vita recently. It was declared before its launch and also is mentioned in its specifications that it will not be restricted for any specific region like its previous versions. I am trying to transfer the games from my old Playstation portable in new Playstation Vita. But, PS Vita is not showing in content manager as it should do. I have followed the steps in manual, but still not helped

Playstation Vita is not restricted to any specific region. Game from any country can be played in PS Vita purchased in any country. So the Japanese PS Vita will play any game from any country of the world. The first thing that everyone did after purchasing was to try transferring games from PSP to PS Vita. Some games were possible to be transferred but many games were not transferrable.

PS Vita lacks disk drive like its predecessor. So one cannot directly transfer PSP games into PS Vita. But, you can download older games from PS Vita storefront. PS Vita Storefront also stores history of one’s previous downloads, so you can know which games one had before and can download to play again.

Another way of transferring games from PSP to PS Vita is transferring it through PS 3. PS 3, PSP & PS Vita all 3 have USB ports. Data can be transferred using USB cable. So if one has PS 3 or can find a one with some empty space in its harddisk. You can transfer the games from PSP into PS 3 and from PS 3; it can be transferred into PS Vita. This process is faster than downloading the content from internet.

Sony has made around 275 games from its previous versions available to be downloaded from their PS Vita storefront. If you cannot find desired game in the list, you can wait for some more days as Sony are in process of making many other games available at Playstation Vita storefront.
