Emergency recovery with KIES in Samsung Captivate Glide

From the past few days I have been working on rooting my phone. Unfortunately I was not able to successfully flash my kernel and now the only option that I have is of emergency recovery. The only thing that I could turn to is the KIES panel and I was not able to find my phone listed in that. So I want to know if I can perform that recovery operation with the help of kies or not. In spite of knowing the fact that kies has not listed my phone. Otherwise do you all know any other method by which I can do the recovery operation, please tell.

I would ask you to go to the download mode of the phone and from there all you can do is start flashing the phone again. That’s what you can do. Re download the kernel. That’s what you can do. Let me know if that was of any use to you or not.

I was able to get into the 3e recovery. I don’t know how did I do that but was successful in it. That’s what I am saying. I happened to check the kernel timestamp and it seems nothing was appearing there in terms of update. So that means I will have to get started all way back now.

I would rather say better not to go with the kies because it is very much similar to the Odin, I would say in order to root the phone, you should flash the fugu kernel that will cause a bootloop now flash that stock kernel again, it should boot again that’s it and nothing else. That means you have successfully rooted. I hope you did understand my language over here.

Ok is that so I did understood what are you trying to say but I don’t understand why Samsung people create such kind of junk stuffs, its of no good use at all. That’s all I can say here. the flashing tool of nokia n900 was a good piece now for this phone I will have to look out for the separate kernel in order to perform the operation. Now the thing that is worrying me is the missing recovery path. I don’t have it and hence that makes the procedure very much nervous.
