Wifi drops out in samsung series 9 laptop

This brand new Samsung series 9 11” laptop is so attractive that now I am completely attached to it, it’s just 2 week old. I really loved the looks and design and also satisfied with the performance if I eliminate the Wi-Fi issue. Trust me the worst the worst Wi-Fi thing in this laptop equals all the good qualities of the laptop.

I still failed to find out the reason for the suddenly drop out of the Wi-Fi connection. Please friends suggest me with some solution, I love this laptop and i don’t want it to get repaired or opened anyhow for any reason.

It’s for sure that your laptop is in warranty, but as you said that you don’t want it to get opened or repaired, the only thing you can do is get the whole laptop replaced from the company. I am sure at least you will get a new one with the same model and with no such wi-fi problem.
It will be good if this problem is limited with just your laptop and not with all the laptops of the same model manufactured yet. I feel this as the best and the only option available for you so please go for it.

Sorry friend I don’t think it’s a good idea. It’s of no use getting your laptop replaced from the company, it’s not because all the laptop of this model facing the same problem but it’s because this series 9 11” laptop’s case is made up of Duralumin and it is having just two antennas Wi-Fi just as the 13.3” models have. It has been said that due to this reason the Wi-Fi connection is unable to establish successfully. So no use of getting it replaced if you are willing to do so.

If we go according to your point, I don’t think even 13.3” laptop should not work perfectly with respect to the wi-fi if you are really blaming the outer case for this problem. Because according to you both share the same duralumin case which you believe is the main reason for the wi-fi issue.

I have both 13" and the 11" laptop and trust me the 13” laptop works fine with wi-fi whereas 11” as usual has the worst wi-fi functioning. Anyways are they not going to make some improvement with the wireless issue being faced? Or else they will leave this problem too unnoticed.

I noticed the issue minutely, whenever you ping the internal router of the laptop you can easily be able to make out one of the 20 to 25 pings drop out. Initially it uses to be like a standard wi-fi problem but later on came up like a huge issue.

The vendor of the laptop sent me another one of series 9 11” just to make sure whether where exactly the problem lies, is it the hardware or else the software. I happily took out the new one booted it and using the config started the ping router but what I noticed was that the exact similar problem of every 20-25 ping drop out issue came up in this model too. Now this time definitely I am going to return the laptop no matter if they will give another one for free.

My friend I believe that Samsung is not the one who is selling the wi-fi fixed models, especially in USA and I think you belong to that country, they have the intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 (3x3 antenna) having the 3rd and the last antenna inside an LCD going in up direction. The problem has been detected a lot in US since 1 month, and the Samsung technical team knows about the issue and also trying to work on it but they will be not commenting on the issue unless they come up with some appropriate solution.

It is also said that the same model i.e. Samsung series 9 has been release in other Asian and European countries with the same Wi-Fi and LCDs but not yet seen received any reports or negative feedback.

I would like to add something here regarding the 13.3” laptop. Who said that this model laptop is not facing the same issues which 11” laptops are facing? There are lots of reports that have been registered, and I am one of them. Maybe the reports are less than as compared to the number of complaints received against the 11” laptops. But ultimately the conclusion is that 13.3” laptop is too going through the same worst wi-fi failure issue. So I believe that the reason of that Duralumin case is quite correct and acceptable.

This is the first time I bought a Samsung series 9 11” and very much happy with it. Wi-Fi works perfectly fine without any drop out and always will full bars and also i am very much satisfied with the overall performance of the laptop with respect to the working as well as the design. I guess I am the only one over here who has come up with a positive remark regarding the series 9 11”. Maybe in my laptop the manufacturer has forgotten to use the Duralumin case.

There is no such information provided by Samsung regarding this issue, the Duralumin case reason is just a view point given but not the exact cause of the inconvenience. As far as I am concerned Samsung has provided null information regarding anything.

I faced the same issue and when contacted the service center they refused to give any information regarding issue and quickly got convinced for the replacement. I doubted their kindness and courtesy and understood that I am not the only one queuing up with this problem, and also understood that Samsung is never going to come up with the solution. So I planned to returned the laptop although it was quite hard to do so as this was one of my best laptop I bought other than the Wi-Fi issue.
