safe mode is not working in Motorola Droid X2

I have got the Motorola Droid X2! Since first day I am trying to boot the phone in a “safe mode”! but even after every time I try to boot it for safe mode it starts in a normal way only! I have followed the directions but still it won’t work! Can anyone please help me?

I have solved this problem after updating to the gingerbread and now able to open my phone in safe mode !i have only followed these steps only:

1. First switch off the mobile
2. Now press and hold the power button and select power off button
3. Now press and hold menu button, start the phone and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds.
4. Hold the menu button until it shows the “safe mode”

You should be using current version of the android in order to use the safe mode on your mobile! Check which android you are using ! safe mode only works in gingerbread 2.3.3 ! if you don’t have latest android system then you should update your mobile and then try going to the safe mode! You can connect your mobile to the PC suite/pc connect and see if there is any update available for your mobile! If you have internet working on your mobile then you will be notified about the update on your mobile phone!
