Need help in local notifications or Push in a new app for iPhone 4S

Hi guys this is very important I have hired contractors for building the app and it looks as if they don’t know much regarding this doing this. What I need to know is , I am tiring to make use of the use local notifications on the new app and I want to make sure is that possible . I want to use the calendar of custom events for this purpose without including it to the iPhone main calendar and if I use push notification in place of local does the app will get the alert on expected time every instance . this is our first app we are designing and we are not the part of Apple developer team I would be really glad if anyone help me on this .

Look like you have hired a wrong developer to build the app . there are lots of developers available on the apple developer site and you should hire then at least they would be having the lost more experience on iOS

Thanks for the reply I really appreciate this but the thing os now that I am at the end stage of the making the app and now I need to know this as there will be no logic to dump this almost complete project and start the new one , please guys I just stuck in this part and I really really need help on this I would be appreciating that
