laptop freezes randomly after windows 7 reinstall

Hi folks,
I'm not sure if its the right place to post. Tell me if i'm at the wrong sub section.
Anyway, My laptop's config is:
Intel i3-330M 2.13 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5650 (mobility)
4 GB DDR3 SDRAM

A month back, i formatted my system completely and reinstalled with 64 bit Windows 7 OS. Its the same OS which i got in recovery discs from the Vendor.
Ever since i reinstalled it, i've been facing the issue of random freezes while running games. Games like Far cry 2, Oblivion, Dragon age 2, MW2, Black ops used to run perfectly fine before i reinstalled the OS. But now if i try with 'em, i get random freezes coming at every 2-3 minutes or so. I tried reinstalling the drivers, Disabling the APM to remove any hard drive issue as well as a few more things i don't remember. But it doesn't work. What should i do?

Which laptop models do you using?
Well the issue could be associated with DirectX and so you need to get the latest version of DirectX and install the same on the laptop of yours.
