Getting an unknown error while updating iphone from ios 4.1 to 5.01

I am having an iphone (jailbreaked) 4 and I am willing to upgrade it from ios 4.1 to 5.01 but then when I am trying to do the same then I am getting an unknown error and because of this the process is not getting complete, I don’t know what is the problem all about I mean that it is not getting froze or something, is there anyone who has an idea about it and can help me out as well.

I think that I can help you here, I mean that if you are saying that you are having a iPhone that is jailbreaked then you will have to first restore it to factory setting and after that you won’t have any problem in upgrading it. Just try it out and then let me know what you get. Best of luck.

Hey thanks for this quick reply I was not aware that we have to restore it to the factory setting if the phone is jailbreaked, anyways I will try out the same and will let you know if I have any further problem.
