The Android 4.0 SDK developers discovered that the new version of Google's mobile operating system support for game controllers. These can be connected via USB. That means your PC controllers or Xbox 360 controller would to connect it to your Android device to thereby go gaming. Android supported all mice and keyboards, but this is the first time officially supported game controllers. This is especially for users of emulators is to support game controllers. Now manufacturers can imitate such an NES controller so you can play the original Super Mario on your Android tablet with Ice Cream Sandwich. It is not the first time that game controllers on Android devices are connected. For example, the remote control of the Wii, the PS3 controller and the Xbox 360 controller via hacks to be used with Android.

The official support game controllers in the software makes use of a controller more accessible. Although most games are based on Android touch controls, there is a high demand for real controllers among die hard gamers. This is with the advent of quad-core processors and 720p HD screens in the future of games on Android.

Every modern phone actually supports hardware acceleration. Support does not mean that it is actually used. In previous versions it was only used hardware acceleration in games. In Ice Cream Sandwich is hardware acceleration even in "normal" apps use.

This is very good news for the people who like to play on their Android tablet as the Ice Cream Sandwich is now available . The new version of the operating system will offer full support for USB gaming peripherals and Bluetooth. If it was already the case in Honeycomb (the previous version of the OS), compatibility is here broader and more accurate. The development kit allows to make a very fine control on the devices, the recognition of keys to the axes of the gyroscopes that many of them now embark. If the game emulators are the first to benefit from this support, developers can also integrate it into other applications

With this support, google is trying to catch up to the iPad which remains the tablet of choice for the game Quartz. The graphics engine of Mac OS X also integrated into IOS which is coupled with OpenGL for 3D and for Quicktime multimedia management and this should offer offers excellent performance. But the locks imposed by Apple does not allow today to natively support these devices.
