Radeon 5650 vs 6550 on Acer Aspire 3820TG

My Acer Aspire 3820TG is so far so good because it is installed with Intel i5 processor. Current video card is not enough for this netbook to play some games. So i am thinking about upgrading it as soon as possible. for that i have only 2 options. They are radeon 5650 or 6550 graphics card. It is because both are under my budget. Which one do you recommend? which one is the most compatible?

    The 6550 is a re-labeled 5650 - and presumably other clock rates GDDR-5 support, ...
However, my GDDR5 support does nothing if not a GDDR-5 memory is installed on the graphics card, right?
Of the clock rates but should also have a tendency to be without a test to see whether more powerful, more-or-less equal?

The ati 6550 with a little bit more ati 5650, but just then I suggest a ati 6550 because it is more powerful and even slightly more updated

Analyzing the video cards and processors that you posted that you posted, rather than a choice made ??according to these components I deliberately make the notebook HDD (size and rpm), the ram, price, memory, video card etc.. Then if you're under the same brand, same HDD ... all but the same processor and video card, then I would opt for i5 480M and 6550M HD. The boards pretty much the same ... the 6550 is a 5650 overclocked to 100Mhz presentiment .... then the card is better for the games in 6550 but I think the difference translates into a 2-3fps more than ... .

If we want to also play between 2 definitely DV6 15 "then .... the 17" (dv7) has a resolution too high for that type of video card (higher resolution = more power = more poligioni to process the gpu request). With 1366x768 at least you have a PC a little more durable, not to mention that between HD and HD + will not hear in-game differences. It also has more powerful processor and video card as explained above .

Apparently you can reach through a firmware upgrade of 5650 the effect that the operating system displays a 6550th As it stands, by overclocking the graphics card. Also seem to hold leg as the new Acer 3820TG. The same "old" graphics card, but factory overclocked and output as 6550th Can safely bring the speed advantages, but how it compares to a "real" 6550 looks to tell no one (has not yet been officially presented).

As graphics memory, the HD 5650 is apparently supported a maximum of GDDR3, and DDR3 will probably be the most widely used version (by the lower price). DDR3 is a bit slower than GDDR3. The GDDR5 versions of the chip are baptized Mobility Radeon HD 5750 or 5770th

After initial benchmark tests, the Mobility Radeon HD 5650 is the performance of the Mobility Radeon HD 5650 is significantly above the old Mobility Radeon HD 4650 250M at the level of a HD 4670 or Nvidia GeForce GTS graphics card (with DDR3 memory). Most of DirectX 10 games (except Crysis and GTA 4 in our tests) can thus be played fluently with high details. DirectX 11 games like Dirt 2, but not at the highest level of detail (usually this is only with DirectX 11 effects) are played smoothly. Thus, the graphics card can rarely take advantage of the DirectX 11 effects (on high-end games). Basically, the HD 5650 is a good choice for affordable middle-class laptops with relatively low resolution display (eg, 15.6 "- 1366x768 pixels).

I am a Toshiba user. As i can say both models offer approximately the same performance. Both have lousy displays and are quite warm under load. The Acer has a slightly better battery life and a switchable graphics card. Here you are, however, according to specific need driver updates as opposed to Toshiba. The Acer has a mirror display and a crappy keyboard, the Toshiba has a matte screen, but is probably much louder. You have to decide what are the disadvantages weigh heavy.

Generally my use is limited to do work, preparing for college practices. However, I always like to play new games without having to put everything to low.

Re: Radeon 5650 vs 6550 on Acer Aspire 3820TG

I have heard that HD 5650 provides the Avivo HD (UVD2) functions to decode HD videos (eg Blu-Ray) with the graphics chip. According to AMD supports the improved UVD2 the decoding of two parallel video streams with sufficient memory bandwidth. Whether this will work with the HD 5650 and DDR3 is not known. A novelty of 5650 is the way HD Audio (8-channel Dolby True HD, DTS) using the built-in HD audio controller output via HDMI. The Mobility Radeon HD 5650 also supports EyeVision by up to 6 monitors operate simultaneously (only if the laptop has DisplayPort outputs).

Re: Radeon 5650 vs 6550 on Acer Aspire 3820TG

The 6550 has a slightly higher clock and is therefore faster than the 5650 so she eats watts under load up to about 30. But in idle only as much as auchdie 5650th Heist much as it makes no difference unless you udn great performance demanded by the chip. (Gawk) Flash/3d generally eats a lot of power from one notebook.
