    Alienware M14x, XPS 15 or 14z

I'm looking for a new Dell laptop to replace my latitude E6400. I want a good all around laptop that can play SC2 and Heroes 6 of Might and Magic well, and is portable (I like to take it with me on trips). The recommended specs to play Heroes 6 are:

Operating System: Windows® XP or Windows Vista® or Windows® 7
    Processor: 2 Ghz Intel® Pentium® Core 2 Duo E6400 or higher, 2.8 Ghz AMD Athlon™II X2 240 or higher
    RAM: 2 GB for Windows® XP, Windows® Vista®, Windows® 7
Video card: NVidia™ GeForce® 8800GTX (1 GB VRAM) or ATI™ Radeon HD 3870 (1 GB VRAM) or better
512 MB DirectX® 9.0c–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (See Supported List for more information).

    DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM (24x)
    Hard Drive Space: 8 GB
Sound: DirectX® 9.0c Compatible Sound Card 5.1 with Latest Drivers
Internet: Broadband connection and service required for multiplayer mode and online features

I'm not a big gamer, I'd just like the laptop that I get to be able to handle the game when I play it; I'm just looking for a solid all around laptop. I like the screen size of my current computer, so I want to stay around this range, hence my choices. Fortunately, price is not much of an option, so I can even go so far as to custom build an XPS 15 or 14z and get whatever I want in it. I talked with a Dell rep and he said that if I customize a 14z, I can get better stuff in it than the M14x and it is much slimmer and lighter as well. Any opinions on which one to get?

Any laptop that has Intel core i3 or higher with 4GB RAM & 1GB gpu support is enough to deal with any kind of game today. I will recommend you to go for XPS range. The laptop according to me are :

    • XPS 17 Laptops : Quite costly. Only recommended if you want 3D supports.
    • XPS 15 Laptops : Mid range system quite good for gaming.
    • XPS 15z Notebook : Low range good for gaming and multimedia.

It depends on your choice and budget for which model you want to go for.
