dell xps L501x touchpad not working

I hav dell xps L501x.my touchpad is notworking..even any usb mouse coonected to my laptop is not working but all the usb ports are working properly..i uninstalled the driver and installed a new one which i downloaded from dell website.but still it's not working..windows show an "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) " how could i fix it...

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad drivers again on your dell laptop? You can download the synaptic driver from the following link here.

i have tried it.but there is no effect of it..

Have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers? Also, are you downloading from Dell's site? You should also go to Synaptics website and download the latest, which will work as well from here. You'll want the 64bit. There could also be a setting in bios.

Why don't you contact to the Dell support and ask them the same. They will tell you the exact solution for this.

Thanks i contacted dell..the prob is solved ..i had to restore my lap to factory settings
