I recently bought a blackberry bold 9000 and wanted to update my existing software from PowerBook G4 to Mac OS 10.4.6.can anybody guide me in updating the my phone? No site has the information regarding the update, can u give me links to any site that has this information, and freeware or open source preferred it would be nice if that software supports any standard for exporting the data.

Power book G4 only 600 MHz. For 10.5 Mac OS is for 800 MHz above, which is not actually compatible with your blackberry Bold 900. Actually BlackBerry Desktop Manager.app is a Universal executable app that requires Mac OS 10.5.5, But the last Mac OS to support PPC (G4/G5) is Leopard(Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) is the sixth major release of Mac OS X, Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers.), The best solution that I would like to suggest is install version 10.5 and upgrade to 10.5.8, install BDM and have it work. BDM which is software that helps to update blackberry phones to Mac Os. Unfortunately I can't upgrade my Mac OS because it's not compatible with PowerBook 4G and with PowerPC architecture. I will look for the software you have mentioned, if I have any other.

For using power book G4. And Pocket Mac software you have to pay for it as no free downloads is available. There has been news about the new BDM (BlackBerry Desktop Manager) from Mac, this new BDM for Mac and can be used for all Mac Os models. But it is preferred on the base of v5.0.0.681? And after I installed official release of the v 5.0.0.661.this version is also compatible with installed v5.0.0.411 (Platform 5.2.033).

Seeing as you have Desktop Manager for Mac, simply plug your blackberry bold in,
1) Open up the desktop manager, 2) click on Applications (in the top right hand side of the window if I remember correctly),3) then select check for updates. It should automatically find and download the v5 software for your BlackBerry Bold.
