Buying Macbook Pro 15 with AMD 6490?

I'm buying a new Macbook pro 15 base model, and I am wondering if the AMD 6490 can sufficiently grip graphic concentrated applications, particularly with the high-res matte display upgrade.

I work in cartography, and frequently deal with high-resolution satellite images. GIS applications can be graphic concentrated at times. Am I improved off receiving the high end Macbook pro?

The only thing the high resolution screen does is give you more pixels per display than the average resolution screen. Of course you appreciate that will make the whole thing lesser on the screen. The plus is you can see more real estate for the same size screen.
