Software installation procedure for PowerBook G4

I have a PowerBook G4 for the past 7 years. I was running it, Adobe Creative Suite, the whole thing was running smoothly as they had done for the past seven years. However, in late July 2011, I had a hard drive crash and also the fact that he had lost most of my files (even if the staff who handled my trouble mac is able to save some files, however, all files were damaged - but this is another issue, I mean, how is it possible for all files that had managed to rescue corrupted?).

My question to anyone who could help me is: what the installation sequence I should follow to ensure that all programs work perfectly after installation? For example, I first install Office, Acrobat, and Adobe CS 2 final? I actually be thankful to anybody who could help with the matter. It’s actually annoying to have such troubles after 7 years as a great laptop, without the smallest amount difficulty occurs.

It would almost certainly be most excellent to install the primary operating system (04/10/11) .then you can install all the applications in any order you want (as long as they are all compatible with OS 10.4.11).

Well, here's the thing. I hear that in the history there were some troubles of disagreement between Microsoft Office (I imagine it was about Office 2004 and Office 2008 not) plus Adobe CS 2. That's why I requested the setting up sequence.

When this matter came with MS Office, which had already installed Adobe CS 2 and Acrobat. I'm not an specialist, although possibly the difficulty that caused this trouble came from the hard drive which was installed on my Apple PowerBook and Mac OS X (10.4.11) the version that was installed.

When my hard drive crashed, my Apple store told me I could not change the hard drive for a new one, simply because it was a very old model and that they had in their shares of a hard drive. All I could offer that I had to accept because it is the only team I have is to install a hard drive (use) of a Mac mini that they had. Now, honestly I cannot be sure if they did remove and reinstall a "fresh" copy of Mac OS X 10.4.11, and this because when I finally took my home I realized that the laptop had vanished from iPhoto .

Yes, I have yet the CD / DVD came with my PowerBook. However, they contain Mac OS X 10.3. Which means I have to find all the combo update to get the latest edition of Panther, then install the update that it had bought 10.4 Tiger as well, each update combo to acquire to 4.10.11 and finally, start installing the software packages I mention in my first electronic mail?

What I was receiving at is, does the iPhoto come with the PowerBook or improve to a newer version later downs the road? If not, after installing Tiger, you can put on your CD that come with the PowerBook and set off to non-compulsory installs and reinstall iPhoto and other iLife.

As far as I know when it comes to installing applications. I know of no special sequence that programs must be installed.

Think of it this way. If anyone belongs to the same team since 2005 and every year they installed some programs (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, etc) It would "remove" all previous programs, so you can install a new program .it would be so time consuming and what a headache!

Each installation of the application is an "autonomous" of the event (so to speak) and software developers have to ensure that their programs of "zero problems" as not to disagreement with further programs (particularly programs for main developers such as Microsoft and Adobe). As far as I be acquainted with no special "installation scripts" to avoid conflicts. It is possible that this type of thing would have happened 15-20 years ago but nothing in the last 10 years.

When I still had the Panther Mac OS installed on my PowerBook, all the standard software provided by Apple are installed. Over time, I used to download all critical updates provided by Apple immediately to have my laptop running effortlessly. Now, a not many years ago I upgrade to Mac OS Tiger

Last July, my hard drive crashed, I have the gray screen with the question mark, set the DVD as suggested in the book of Mac OS to check all the teams in my Powerbook. Since then, he could do nothing to solve this problem; I decided to take to my local Apple store to find out what really happened.

Anyway, what I'm annoying to say is that when I have it behind them (which, while we're on the subject, to save some money if probable I asked them not to reimburse VAT, but also meant that there could be no 6 months assurance for the hard disk had positioned on my PowerBook).

The fact is that I had lost a significant amount of time off from work, not to mention the loss of highly personal and work files, some of whom were working at the time of the accident. This means that I did not realize immediately that he had disappeared iphoto.

For this reason I think the reason I have experienced all these problems is that Apple technology, man has almost certainly installed on the Mac mini hard drive as it was, or was it a machine with an installation is not so good Mac OS and other software. Keep you informed throughout the process when finished, hopefully no problems there!

Let me give you an example. When I had bought a few years ago Adobe CS package told me there was a sequence in which programs must place the specific package in order to improve its functionality. Now, I'm not a programmer or developer so I follow his recommendation.

But honestly, I think you're right when you say that as much as possible that can cause a conflict - the incompatibility with the operating system, probably due to different dates of publication of updates of several that might affect the relationship - between the functionality of these two programs and operating systems.
