I never updated my Nokia N7 and its still running on Symbian 3 it have been using it for almost 3 months at the present I just like every thing about this phone features and Have explore and attempt the whole thing love everything regarding this phone just the battery issue kind of make me bit depressing except if you seem just about every the smart phone in the bazaar these days of these or higher specs don’t have a battery life of extra than one and half day. Don't let the phone pop you mail to often. I amplified my battery life when I changed interval from 10 minis to 1 time per hour. Hopes this prove to help

• Download an app called battery monitor it will preserve power without set you on battery saving mode.
• Use Wi-Fi only or the majority of the time. someway it boost your battery life in comparison to edge or 3G
• Keep your ringtone on ring once. and turn vibration off if you have a ringtone permited profile
• Try using dark backgrounds on your home screen if at all possible black
• Switch off your dual mode in the network connection settings and go to GSM just

I have Nokia E6, however several of these maybe helpful or applicable for the E7.

1) stop screensaver like clock etc

2) lesser screen blanking time,

3) Switch Wi-Fi off or put it too ask while and where to connect.

Yeah may be it helping you but this battery monitor apps is not working for my actually Battery Monitor make use of 10% more power when being used , than a phone without it was so fine I had to uninstalled it to amplify battery life so I wonder how does that works for you
