Nokia E71 screen goes blank for a couple of minutes

I have had the phone several months without issue.

Starting this week end the screen would go blank. After several seconds it will come back on, mostly when it is changing screens, almost like it is a memory thing. I have not added anything new, and have cleared out all I can. Sometimes it will not do it for an hour or two, other times it is unusable.

Any thoughts?

Try to use the phone without the memory card and see if that is working well or not. Other than this, the best option for you is to contact the Nokia support and they will tell you the solution for this.

As it turns out I recalled that the phone had gotten a little wet a couple of days before these problems started.
I placed the phone in a zip lock bag with rice and desicant. I checked it after sever hours and it is currently working, I am hoping this is the source of my trouble. Will know by Monday.

Have you tried to update the phone's firmware/software. You can do this by downloading the Nokia Software Updater from their website and install on your computer. Then connect your phone to your computer via USB then run the software updater. Or if your phone is capable, look for the "device manager" option maybe under the tools->utilities folder then option->check for updates.

I will try and keep up with the updates.

My current problem seems solved with the dry time. It has worked all weekend.
