Soldered CPU in Acer Aspire 7741G?

Just got an Aspire 7741g and I am really get impressed by its basic Core i3-330m processor. I employ it plenty intended for running virtual machines within VirtualBox therefore I was assuming if the slower clocked except quad core i7-720M would be a probable upgrade, otherwise perhaps an i5 through the Turbo Boost characteristic. I've got a sense however that this model contains a soldered microchip - does anybody recognize if this is correct?

Unlike a desktop PC, where you can change the processor, a laptop you can NOT change the CPU since it is soldered to the motherboard and not mounted on a plinth

If i was in your case I would upgrade the RAM in any case, since 2 GB SODIMM yes now no longer as prohibitive! Apart from the fact that too little RAM slow your processor too, because with a lack of RAM strengthened written to the swap file on your hard disk! I dont know whether your laptop contains a soldered CPU or not but in order to know about this you either need to look into the manual or open the case by yourself to see.

Insert a screwdriver with flat blade into the slot that says open and make a slight pressure in the direction of the arrows. The processor will pop out from the contacts and you can remove it. To put the new procedure with the opposite insertion of screwdriver on the side where it says lock, light lateral pressure in the direction of the arrows and blocked processor. I few years ago I did so with a K6-II mounted on a Fujitsu, it would seem that the time has passed. Take care, caution and delicacy.
