video playback: Motorola XOOM vs. Toshiba Thrive

Hi, I am planning to have any one of the tablet for myself but as I am confused in between this two, so which one is better at the video playback feature? Because the thing that I have noticed is like both the device has almost same resolution and with the same screen size so which one would be better to have? As apart from the dimensions they both use the same operating system as well, so which one shall I prefer? Thanks for any suggestion.

See according to me you should try to look at some other specification if you are confused between this two because though they uses the same OS but still they have different hardware configuration that makes them different from each other. You can have information from their respective sites only.

See have made this test with both the devices, so just have a glance and choose any of two.

Both the devices has completely newer OS installed and they are loaded with the H264 codec video, with 720p and the files size was about 1.5 Gigabyte.

    And the fallout were:

    Motorola XOOM

    • - there were no visible frame jitter.
    • - There isn’t any problem with the voice synchronization.

    Toshiba Thrive

    • - wholly noticeable frame jitter. As Videos appears to be uneven.
    • - After a period of time the sound went out of synchronization.

See though you have made your own test but still according to me it seems like both the devices are actually feature specific. It might be possible as the thrive don’t have such a capability but still it has many more good features which is not presented in the xoom as well. And as far as I know there were momentous enhancement to video playback and codec’s in 1.5.0023 and 1.5.0029 version for thrive and which is not available for xoom.

well when it comes to gaming according to me thrive is far better than the other one as the device has NVIDIA GeForce GPU. And I am agree with the above user as I haven’t test any such thing but still they are good at their own features.
