Sony USM16GLX 16GB USB drive only shows as 4GB available

I buy the Sony USM16GLX 16GB USB flash drive and initially the specification of this flash drive will be indicate the 16GB memory capacity. Then I perform the formatting task on this flash drive. After finishing this task the drive only shows 4GB of the memory space. I am really frustrating with this flash drive. I need the perfect solution that helps to solve this capacity problem. Thanks for any kind of suggestion.

If the stick is formatted as FAT32, there is a file size limitation of 4GB. I think you have formatted this drive using the FAT 32 and hence this will be indicate that the flash drive contains the 4GB of the memory space. I think you need to fully format the drive using the NTFS using Disk Management in Windows. This will be help to solve the problem and then you can able to store more than 4 GB data on it.

If you are work on the windows based system such as windows 7 then you need to check its memory size onto the disk management window of the windows. In this process you need to open the disk management by hitting the computer->property->manage->disk management option. It opens the disk management window. Then check the drive size onto it. If this is 16GB then its fine otherwise you need to contact the seller of this flash drive.

I have also the same problem. I did format it under WinXP-Prof + SP2 OS. Then it would be arrive the same problem. In that it indicates the 4GB memory space instead of the 16 GB memory space. Then I check the virus on this system. I found several different type of the virus on this flash drive. It will be identifies that the flash drive indicate the low space because of the virus present on this system. Then you also need to follow the same process.
