Windows 7 Drivers for Canon 5D Classic

I am having a camera. Canon 5D Classic. I have it from back few days and it is just amazing to use the same. But few days back I came to know that it is compatible with the windows 7. So on hearing that I was very much excited. But now the issue is that I don’t know how to get it connected. Do I need to get some driver or so? Can anyone please guide me what shall be done and what not to do. Thanks in advance.

Yes you have heard it right the camera can be connected to the computer. I had the same camera and I had connected it previously but I don’t remember right now how I did that. But I remember that you need to have the CD that must have came with the camera. If you have the manual then it must be mentioned in there also have a look. And post in over here if you get success in your task.

Yes I also know that this camera can be connected to the computer and it is compatible with windows 7 as well as windows vista. I know this because my one of the friend has the same and we had done it before. But I googled it regarding your query and just found that you will need the WIA driver. You can find it on the internet. You will get the driver easily on the canon website. So download it from there.

It is not fair at all. I think that there are many people in this world who just think that there is just 32 bit windows 7 and no 64 bit windows 7. I am tired of searching the driver over the internet but dint have find any of the for the windows 7 64 bits. Its working fine in the windows 7 32 bit but not in 64.So I am going back to the vista and check it out if it is going to work there. Wish me luck for the same.

1. Switch the power of the camera on.
2. Press menu button.
3. Now change the Auto power off settings from on to off.
• Go to the setting tab, to go to the Auto power off.
• Push the SET and switch the Quick Control Dial to Off.
4. Push the MENU again and switch the display off and then switch of the camera.
5. Connect the camera to the computer with the USB.
6. Turn camera’s power on.
7. And you are done.
