How to connect Inspiron 1545 and Dell 1397 mini-card to Linksys BEFW11S4 v2.1

I just acquired a new Inspiron 1545 with the 1397 WLAN card. Set it up to attach to my home network by a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router. I have checked the Linksys site and can verify that I have the most recent firmware. I have attempted the whole thing, WEP on and off, hard resetting router, and so on. The laptop will attach and access the internet if I firm wire it to the router. For a time the laptop will illustrate a correct wireless connection to the router or network/internet, but the browser at a standstill does not access the internet. I attempted to ping the router and I obtain either timing out or destination host unreachable. Please someone help me.

This does sounds unlucky, but it isn't the primary time that a router and a network card were mismatched. I understand that you have modernized the router with the most recent firmware, but I speculate if your attempted to totally reset the router (holding the reset key until all the light on the face light up) and after that reconfiguring it. I think this is worth an attempt as you may have something like a Mac filter list or a few additional setting restricting the laptop (or any laptop) from connecting to the router.

This is only a guess. This relates to another kind of card but may work, if you have this setting. In Device Manager, twice click on the Dell Wireless double Band WLAN Mini-Card device. The properties dialog should become visible. After that, click on the advanced tab. Seem for Antenna Diversity below the Property. Alter the value to Aux. Push ok. After that try and reconnect to your WIFI connection. By altering this you should notice your access point and be able to attach to it. Download these drivers. Un-install the additional drivers, start again your computer, and after that install the drivers I offered.

Where I work we have a wireless network and we have linked to it, IPods, macbook pro's, macbook airs, Dell XPs', old Dell Inspiron, HP laptops, Nokia cell phones, Toshibas', and at present 2 people just acquired jointly dell Mini 10's with 1397 wireless cards. Neither of the mini 10's can grasp a connection for in excess of 30 seconds! I have attempted the whole thing on these forms, even altering the security on the network to WPA2.

I just acquired an Inspiron 1440 with the 1397. Upload speeds well, Download speeds very sluggish approximately 600 to 700 kb, Router Netgear wgr614 v6. As well have Inspiron 1705, Switched cards and similar trouble. Fortunately I work for the cable group and have access to wireless routers, distorted router to Netgear wgr614 VERSION 8. At present downloads are at 20 mb. I even attempted to just perform a firmware upgrade and it didn't work. So noticeably the1397 isn't well-matched with older (Mine was just 2 years) routers.

I as well acquired an Inspiron 1545 with the 1397 WLAN card for my sister for her birthday. Put it up with a D-Link router (that works excellent with my other 2 laptops). The computer will unplanned the signal from my router but it will not attach. Speak with Dell and it looks it is not their trouble. Wants me to contact and pay for their support services. I have as well attempted to attach with three other networks and it says the similar thing.
