How to Setup Wi-Fi on Samsung Wave phone

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) links two or more devices and usually provides connection through an access point to the internet. With your Samsung GT-S8500 mobile phone, you can connect to the Internet or other network devices anywhere an access point or wireless hotspot is available.

To activate the WLAN feature on your mobile phone, do the following:

• In Menu, tap Settings.
  
  
• Tap Connectivity.
  
  
• Tap Wi-Fi.
  
  
• You can also open the shortcuts panel and tap Wi-Fi.

To find and connect to the WLAN, take the following steps:

• In Menu, tap Settings.
  
  
• Tap Connectivity.
  
  
• Tap Wi-Fi.
  
  
• The device will automatically search for available WLANs.
  
  
• Select the check box next to a network.
  
  
• Enter a password for the network and tap OK (if necessary).

To customise the connection profile, please follow the steps below:

• In Menu, tap Settings.
  
  
• Tap Connectivity.
  
  
• Tap Wi-Fi.
  
  
• Select the discovered WLAN AP.
  
  
• The current connection profile for the network appears.
  
  
• Customise the connection profile of the selected WLAN using the following parameters.
  
  
  
• When you are finished, tap Back. To delete all details of the connection profile, tap Forget.

NOTE: An active WLAN running in the background will consume battery power. To preserve battery power, activate the WLAN only when needed.
