Apple macbook air:Word 2011 freezes on startup

Hello friend, I am having an apple mac book air laptop, that I recently purchased, this is featured with Intel dual core processor. I am facing a peculiar type of problem in my newly purchased laptop. The problem is word application is not running ok, it freezes frequently, I tried with many tricks to resolve this, but nothing works. I also tried by reload the application along with this also tried by load the latest and an earlier version. But this also does not work. Now I am looking for any other alternative for work application. Is here anyone having any idea or information on this? Any input will be appreciated greatly.

There are many people switching from Windows to Mac This step always involves an leaving behind of almost all the programs that usually runs on Windows platform.
