How to delete the entire inbox of email account from iphone

I have recently purchased iphone 4 and i use it for the purpose of mailing. Now i am looking to deleting the entire inbox of a mail account. I want to delete all the mails together without going to each mail and deleting them individually. Can anyone provide me the method to do this? Please try to post it here. Thanks.

For doing this thing i have one nice solution, so you can try this out-

First try to open your mail account.
Then you need to press the edit button which is present at the top right
Here try to select all the emails
After selecting them, now delete them at one time.

The best way to do this is to connect your iphone to your desktop. Then try to access all the mails from there. Select all the mails and try to delete all of them from their at the same time. Even i follow the same method for deleting my mails from the iphone. Try this out and i think that it will really help you out.

My problem is bit different from the above. I am having account in Hotmail. The problem is that when i delete a message from my iphone, then it successfully gets deleted from my Hotmail inbox. Is there any solution using which i delete messages from my iphone only and it can remain as it is in my inbox on the computer. Does anyone have any kind of knowledge related with this topic? Please try to help me out on this issue. Thanks.

I think that it depends upon the way you access the Hotmail account on your iphone. If you are accessing the account as the POP account, then even if we delete the messages from the iphone, it does not has any effect on the messages which are being stored on the server, unless there is option available to delete the messages from the server. There is one more way to access the account, which is called as Exchange account. In this account if we delete the messages from the iphone, then it also gets deleted from the server. Refer this as it will definitely help you.

I was successfully able to delete my entire mails from the inbox, by implementing the solution given by Ronchi. It really did help me out. So I will also like to thank you for providing your support which you have provided to me and also for spending your precious time in giving me the reply.
