4.1 update 3259 error

I am having some issue with my iPhone so I thought to update it to iOS4.1. But when I try to update it to iOS4.1 I received error 3259 and I am getting this error message every time when I try to update. My friend is having 3G and he update without any issue from the same computer using the same iTunes. The message states that a network timeout occurred. Can any one provide any solution to solve this problem. Thank you in advance.

You can try to download the update first. If it is not getting downloaded from iTunes then try to download from some other link. You can download it from apple sites. Try to download this version iPhone 3G 4.1 (iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw). When you need to apply the new firmware, open iTunes and go to summary page click SHIFT+RESTORE and select the firmware. Hope this help to solve your issue.

Even I too ahve the same issue with my iPhone. I try to update to iOS4.1 but it gives some error while updating. I have AVG antivirus installed, I just disabled the antivirus program and try to update. Now I have updated 3G with iOS4.1. If after doing this does not solve your issue, then you can also check windows firewall setting. After doing this you will be able to update your iPhone to iOS4.1.

Hi. I too got the same error message when try to update my 3G to iOS4.1. Getting 3259 error.i try three time yesterday and even today to update it but the issue is same. I read post saying that it can be resolve by disabling the antivirus, I try to update by disabling by Avast antivirus but I got the same error message again.

I would like to update my iphone through official channel through iTunes. If i was unable to do it then I will try to update through third party sites. But now the error 3259 is gone an dwhen I am updating it display this message saying that there is problem when downloading the software and network connection timed out. The update is getting downloaded but in the processing phase it display this error message and update files are deleted.

Have same issue with iphone. I am running Kaspersky 2010 and added the iTunes.exe to the excluded list. As the timeout error is network related so I just select Do not monitor network traffic. After doing this I again try to update it to iOS4.1 and this time it is successfully updated. You can try this technique hope this will solve your issue.
