    RSS reader for BlackBerry

Viigo the free BlackBerry RSS reader :
This program was called by Newsclips VirtualReach but recently partnered with the guys at BlackBerryCool wonderful to provide the software for free. I just like the day a product that I used to pay $ 30 per year is now provided for free. The only thing that was changed when they changed Newsclips in Viigo is the green icon on the home screen and the ugly green borders on the application but this program shines even with the ugly aesthetics. Viigo is a wonderful free offline reader of RSS. When you first download the application from the link above you will have the default RSS feeds on your Blackberry. You can add and remove RSS feeds from the home screen of the application. They also provide a fairly comprehensive list of RSS feeds that you can choose from if you choose to add the list.

Enter now into what makes the program shine. In the options you will find an arrangement to let you choose how many items of RSS software should be stored at a time. The default is 250 but you can change this in 1000 by clicking on this box and typing 1000 out on the keyboard. The software auto-configures your connection but if it is wrong change the arrangements. You must then change if you want the software to autoupdate every selected hours or only the update manually. It is a great feature if you're on a limited data plan. You can also set whether you want the software handles rich text and download images. The RSS reader is great once it starts downloading the feeds every two hours. The reading pane takes advantage of the BlackBerrys scroll wheel to control what you read. I hope they have adapted the software to let you hit the space bar to scroll down in an article but as of now you can hit "N" to go to the next item and "B" to go the previous one. You also have the ability to send the article link by email from your address book. The only downside of it is that it only lets you send the first email you have on file for each contact, even if you choose another email address.

Other features include additional Viigo track packages (excluding UPS) just by entering the tracking number. They provide this service by simpletracking.com. You can get this device if you click add a channel in the main menu and then click on the service> track a package. They also let you create an RSS feed of search terms, an opml file or even a techno search channel. Finally VirtualReach offers you the ability to control your rss subscriptions from their website in a section called the myViigo where you can add and remove feeds and edit them. Amazing Blackberry interface is much more powerful than the web interface in this regard. In conclusion it is a great piece of software that I recommended even if it cost $ 30 per year but now he is free I invite you to leave the above link and install this wonderful contribution of BlackBerryCool and VirtualReach.
