iPhone 4 Upgrade - Keeping Old Phone

I am looking for some information on the iPhone 4 upgrade. But this is not for buying a new phone but for upgrading the older one. I have a iPhone 3G purchased sometime before. I want to upgrade to iPhone iOS 4 for better performance of the phone. I had heard that this new operating system for the mobile has much more newer solutions and support, especially for the reception support.

The update to version 4.0 is done in less than 15 minutes. The technique described here works with a Mac or Windows PC. In addition, you must install the beta version 9.2 of iTunes prior to updating the iPhone. Just run the update from iTunes and you will notice that your phone's performance has improved to an extent.

Updated yesterday evening on my 3G. Some problems quickly. The iPhone hangs for 30 seconds on some features: forward mail with attachments, including wireless network selection. But later on everything works really fine. Very good update in any case that makes you want to change the iPhone very soon.
