L645D-S4030 Wifi N not working correctly

My friend contain the Toshiba L645D-S4030 Satelite having a Realtek WiFi card on it. It is presume to have an WIFI 802.11n(WIFI-N).He is having a Netgear WNDR3700 router which broadcast in Dual band with 2.4GHz b/g/n and 5GHz a/n. But this Toshiba can only identify the 2.4GHz and not exceed to 54Mbs. My friend also have other wireless devices which connect to 300Mbs but he is not sure whether it will support his laptop. Let me know solution of this problem.

Re: L645D-S4030 Wifi N not working correctly

I have the same model of laptop and using it from two month. I have also facing the same problem. I tried to reset the router to the default setting but my laptop still detects just 2.4 Ghz network. I have other laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit connect to 5GHz at 300mbps. Actually this Realtek card is the main problem of not connecting so just try to get fix with the new network card.

WIFI-N is silent a draft normal which is inter-operability sandwiched between equipment of different manufacturer is not assured because each manufacturer has their own inclination over some slight details. Nevertheless you should go for the latest driver from Intel either update it and also latest firmware for the router in case there is junction in the performance of the draft standard. So, just follow the above instruction this may help you to avoid with the low speed on WIFI-N.

If you want a fine speed on WIFI-N then you need to use WPA(2) as it may support the WEP in the 11N mode. You should also make note that there is no any other network in range due to which your network will be drop out. That is why your router must be place in mixed mode 11g/n.

I also tried to install the drivers Atheros Wireles LAN 802.11a+g/g with version 2.4.2.1 but this also not work on the Toshiba L645D-S4030. I also tried to update the driver and reinstall on my laptop but still not happy with the performance. So, I have to stick with the older driver only.

You have problem with your wifi not working .You have a wireless connection but internet access is the way through which you can simply check you connection.Firstly, just connect the internet wired connection in your laptop using Ethernet connection and try to surf some web pages by which you will know your internet working or not. If its working then you might be having the trouble with your wireless setting so just try to change your network name to some alphanumeric and also modify PSK to alphanumeric again.

You must first uninstall the drivers and then try the updated driver for your network card. After installing the updated drivers if you are facing the same problem then go for the new network card of other factory. You can also try out the latest Windows7 which already comes with an updated drivers for the network card.
