    Toshiba A305-S6858 Display resolutions

I have a Toshiba A305-S6858 that monitor 17 " works in 1024 x 768. For the comfort of my eyes, I would buy a 17 "LCD display but I find that the optimal resolution is 1280 x 1024. The relationship between the two resolutions are different in width and height ( 1.25 and 1.33) .
I ask myself the following questions:
    1. Image does not be distorted or different?
2 LCD resolution should be it for office ?
I would welcome advice and guidance . Thanks.

In a 17 "LCD ,The useful part of the screen measuring 27.4 x 34.3 cm ( aspect ratio : 1.25 and 4 / 3 not met), The native resolution is 1280 x 1024 ( aspect ratio : 1.25) .Conclusion: undistorted image. If that same 17 "LCD you apply resolution 1024 * 768 : the aspect ratio of the screen is of course 1.25 the aspect ratio of the number of pixels it will ( as for the CRT 17 ") of 4 / 3 is 1.33. Conclusion : distorted ( stretched vertically ).

    Re: Toshiba A305-S6858 Display resolutions

The recommended resolution for all 17'' screen is 1024 * 768, so at worst nothing stopping you from passing this resolution on your LCD screen future. The best resolutions are in effect in 1280 * 1024 for 17 '' screen , but again we are not obliged to put it. Furthermore, I believe the definition 1280 * 1024 is a standard, there may be a difference of degree, but it is minimal .. if indeed it was not the case , I do not think it would be a standard ... To answer your other question , yes LCDs are more suitable for office , it's easier on your eyes . Note however that there are very good CRT and that there are also filters .

Macintosh computers function at the typographical normal resolution of 72 dpi. This make it very easy to change from pixels to points, because they're the same! This means that if you have the right monitor size, your display image will be the same size as what you print. There's 72 points in an inch, there's 72 pixels in an inch. Windows computers run at a typical resolution of 96 dpi, and I have no plan why (might be linked to the dpi of some early CGA/EGA/VGA screens?). Since of this, objects that are display under Windows will appear to be 133% of their on paper size. I can't tell you how a lot of times I see students in the lab set their type size to 9 pt on a Windows workstation (come into view to be (9 * 3/4) / 72 = 1/6" on screen) and be unsure why it looks so tiny when printed (9/72 = 1/8" on paper).

The 832x624 is it seems that a really rare PC resolution, or a Mac-specific one, as you won't find it on your PC. Since Macs and PCs these days fairly often use the same video hardware, chances are that both are true.. You will also locate 96 dpi on PC hardware organization non-Microsoft operating systems. For the reason stated above, I still don't recognize why 96 dpi is used. 72 dpi is much more functional for achieve WYSIWYG printed output for no matter which with text on it.

A web page view at a decree of 1024 x 768 px on a 17" monitor will display the same precise amount of satisfied in pixels as if it were view at a resolution of 1024 x 768 px on a 21" monitor (see figures above). That 17" monitor has a grid of 800 x 600 pixels to use when display your HTML page; so does the 21" monitor. The guy with the 21" monitor will be considering everything a lot larger, but it won't see further of the page. Monitor size is not the issue.
