DROID: Phone Sound Quality is not great

I bought the Motorola Droid. It was working fine without any issue. Now I recently realized that there was some thing wrong with the piece that I did not encountered. There is some problem with the Sound that I am facing. The phone sounds like there is an echo. On the calls I find that there are some clips. I am not able to rectify the fault by myself, did I set something wrong mistakenly.

I have no problem here with the DROID Phone's Sound Quality . I have no issue with the sound whether it is an incoming call or it is an out going call. I just got an escape with the phone that I was using and in comparison with the Droid the sound quality that Droid gives is 100 times better then it. I guess there must be some issue of the network. It may also be because of your respective location that you are not receiving a strong signal. I can hardly think of having issue with the sound quality, because I am pleased with the sound quality that it gives compared to the other piece that I was using.

Same problem here with Droid's sound quality. I have given a little detail of how it has this strange problem. When I turn the level of the volume higher it does not fulfill the need but when turn it to lower it get's little better. I even do not think that in my case it would be an issue of the network. As, you know I am well situated at a place where no one can think of this issue. Please help, and try getting me out of here. Thanks in advance.

I think that I can give a starter to this thread and start with solution. If this problem is faced at the receivers end and receiver is also talking about the echo then I can help you a bit in this matter. You can try switching off the speakerphone and then turning it on. It eventually goes away. I have faced this many time and I have this as a solution. The sound quality is fine otherwise in my situation.

The solution that Simond gave hardly seems to me as a good solution. The problem that I am facing is, I can not keep the volume down. When I am finished with one call, for the next call the volume goes directly to half. I found that, it can be easily fixed by turning down the "in-call" volume. I am trying on how to get to the default so that the problem may not persist. Any opinion on how can it be done?
