Htc Hero Messages Issue please help

I have recently purchased a New mobile Phone HTC Hero. I am not able to send any message from my phone but i can recieve the sms.. from other. Can you please tell me whats wrong with my phone. Whenever i am sending a sms I am getting this error " Sorry! The Application Messages (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again " And " Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again Later "
Please help me out with this issue!!!

Well i am using the Android phone for the 1st I have no idea whats happening. Can you be more specific what you are trying to say. I have idea on windows mobile but now am completely a noob.

Do the following things on your Andriod Device.

1. Go to Terminal on your handset
2. Type su,then it will show #,
3. Type fix_permissions.

Your device will run some process in the background, now you can reboot your phone and check whether the problem is resolved or not.

Or even you can try another method, 1st thing you can do take a backup of your device Go to settings - security - format ur device, this may solve your problem.
