    Garmin GPS Map 76 Screen goes blank and locks up

    I am facing problems with the Garmin GPS Map 76. I have recently purchased that and hence not knowing more about it. Actually the problem is that it's screen turns blank many times and on top of that it also gets locked up.!! Is there any solution to fix this problem.?? Since, I am new to this device, detailed information is expected from your side. Any other information related to the Garmin GPS Map 76 would be helpful.

    Many such issues has been solved by downloading the application known as 'Mapsource' from the official site of Garmin. You should keep in mind that it will not install unless you are having the previous version of it. There is a trick for doing this, first you will have to install the Training Center Program of Garmin, then the Mapsource update will install. I am sure that updating will definitely solve your issue.

    Storing Data is simpler than always with the 76CSx's detachable microSD card. This included vacant card stores up to 128 megabytes (MB) of discretionary maps data.     I would like to explain you about FUNCTION CALCULATION OF AREA IN 3 STEPS :
    • With your browser on and receiving a signal, move the cursor and select Page, located in the upper right corner. Among the options presented, choose Main Menu, then Accessories and finally Area Calc prepared to start the measurement.
    • When ready, choose Start and begin to walk the perimeter, either on foot, bicycle, horseback, motorcycle, ATV, car, truck, boat or plane. No matter the speed, try to ride every irregularity of the perimeter. Remember that the more faithful he is to outline to calculate more accurate the measurement. Once you reach the starting point, select Stop.
    • You can see on the screen the total value of the contoured area recently. If you want to save the measurement data (figure, total area, date, time, route) then select the Save option. The route (track) and units of measurement can be modified. To confirm the recording, select only option is OK. This allows you to store information for up to 10 routes (tracks).
