    CD/DVD Rom Doesn't Recognize CDs on Satellite 135

    I am using a Toshiba satellite laptop installed with windows 7. I am facing quiet an awkward problem from past few days. My DVD drive does not recognize cd's please tell me what to do in this situation what is the problem behind this error. I would really appreciate your help in this matter. Thanks in advance.

    Try to follow the steps which i have mentioned below so that you can open the cd drive starts reading the cd's

    • Insert the CD which you want to access in the dvd Rom.
    • Now hold the windows key and press E from the keyboard.
    • This will open the Windows Explorer
    • Now click on the drive letter in the left pane of the windows
    • You will see the content of the cd in the right pane.

    Check the whether the cable which connects the cd/dvd rom to the mother board is connected properly some times it stops reading cd's when it loosens. also clean the dust which have been collected between the cables. This will enhance the contacts. I hope that either of the two will definitely solve the problem.

    Clean the CD/DVD ROM with the help of the lens cleaner. The cleaner will clean all the dust particles which has been collected on the lens and this will help it to read the files from the cd properly. If this does not solve your issue then you should try to get it checked with the help of a hardware professional.
