Hey you are right you are not bale to access iDisk using ipad. Such kind of facility is not available for ipad. You have to use iWork to do this. Actually I also love the iDisk. I think in the future apple will release such type of facility to ipad. I think you have to go to the following link and report your problem there.

Hey you can use MobileMe iDisk on our ipad. With MobileMe iDisk, you can view and share the files on your iDisk right from your iPad.
You have to use following steps to Enable MobileMe push synchronization.

    1. On your Home screen, tap Settings.
    2. If you have iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G, tap Cellular Data and make sure cellular data is on.
    3. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    4. Make sure Fetch New Data is set to Push.
    5. Tap Add Account and choose MobileMe.
    6. Enter your MobileMe account information then tap Next.
    7. Turn on Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Bookmarks.

Hey iWork is also best for iPad. With File Sharing in iTunes 9.1, you can copy files to your computer you created on your iPad with Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. You can also do the reverse of this and copy files from your computer to your iPad, to be used with your iWork apps. For example, if you start a Pages document on your iPad, you can easily copy it to your Mac and edit it in Pages '09, and then copy it back to your iPad.
