Have you tried to set the "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected" option for “Prompt”. If not then try it and whey you plug in the phone your must ask you for enable ling the mass storage mode. If it is coming then you have to click yes and it must show up your computer.

Try to the following things if possible
Try to format the MC from the BB itself
It will better if you try old and new versions of Desktop Manager
Try to use both Device OS 4.2 and 4.5 and at last
try to check with different USB (Universal Serial Bus) cables and ports
I am not sure but these setting may work for you and you have not mention which operating system you are using on your computer system.

As per my knowledge the mass storage mode allow the user for placing or removing the files from the computer system to the BB memory card, this is better option in place of using the memory card reader. And if you are not having the mass storage mode then you should take out the memory card form the BB and use the memory card reader for accessing the card.

I am also facing the similar problem and I have the following configuration

    Media Card Support is on
Encryption Mode is set to None
Mass Storage Mode Support is also set to on
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode when connected is also set Yes
Total Space is showing 1.89GB and the Free Space: 1.89GB
But I am not able to go into the Mass Storage Mode and my operating system is window vista. Please help me for this issue and I will be waiting for the related replies.

Re: My 8310 not prompting mass storage mode

I think that you just need to have "auto enable mass storage mode when connected" to: Prompt? (in options > memory) in the blackberry 8310 mobile phone. Or download a file called BB storage Activation new.rar b searching it from google, Run hahanew batch file, press any key, wait till reboot then close and thats all.
