The application or the wallpaper that is been downloaded may have caused the issue. This is the reason that the application is not able to work out well. It could be that the phone is been appended with some issue. Try to free up the memory or remove and then install the application again to the same. This would then help in processing the same.

You need to process out the process well. it is as follows:

    • Turn SSH and Wi-Fi on in your iphone
    • Open the SSH program of your choice on your computer
    • Get the Wi-Fi IP address of your phone. You can find this through SBSettings, or other IP displaying app.
    • Enter the Wi-Fi IP address of your phone in the SSH program and use the username: root and the password
    • Find the folder /var/lib/apt/lists
    • Undo the option that you may have while backup of files.
    • Delete all of the files except for the partial folder
    • Disconnect the SSH connection in your program
    • Open Cydia and download horrible all-pink themes for Winterboard

There is another way through which you can make the issue to gbe sorted. It is as follows:

    1. Shell access (terminal or ssh)
    2. Su to root
    3. dpkg -configure -a
    4. apt-get update
    5. apt-get install cydia (if this fails add –fix-missing)
    6. apt-get upgrade (to install mobilesubstrate correctly)
    7. reboot

Remove the battery of the phone or upgrade the firmware of the application that would then make the issue to be sorted. It is essentially well and needs to work out for the same. As the you may then needs to restart the iphone in order to make the application to work out well. This is necessary and make the things to be performed well.

You need to check out for the thing by following the steps that is mentioned as below:

    - Delete all files in the path var/lib/apt/lists, except the ‘partial’ folder.
    - Reboot the Iphone
    - Load Cydia again

    This should work out.

Re: Cydia freezes On 'Loading Data' Screen

I am having the same issue.

I think all of the above suggestions are impossible (deleting / changing anything in the filesystem, SSHing in etc) under the blackra1n jailbreak, because:
    1) this occurs on the first run of Cydia so you cannot install openssh or any file transfer programs, and
    2) if you try and install Rock instead of Cydia (so that you can install openssh etc) you get the message: "Error Downloading Rock. Could not download. Error: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomaon Code=-1003 UserInfo=0x1679c0 "can't find host""

This was using the blackra1n.exe downloaded today from blackra1n.com on a fresh firmware 3.12 (7D11 - nothing else installed) on a 1st Gen iPod Touch.

After it has said "loading data" for a period of time, Cydia exits and drops you back into the iPod's home (app selection) screen.

There is an app called iphonebrowser which lets you access the file system.

Re: Cydia freezes On 'Loading Data' Screen

Thanks - I saw that before I posted the problem but unfortunately according to http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/ -
"Blackra1n does not create the afc2 service needed by iPhoneBrowser.
You can install the afc2add program in Cydia to add the service."

Therefore again you're stuck (you need Cydia to work to install afc2add, which is needed to run iPhoneBrowser).

    Same problem with:

Also tried DiskAid to try and work around the need for OpenSSH and Cydia:

But that didn't work because you couldn't install apps or change file permissions.

    I didn't however try iPhoneExplorer:

and that one may work (it doesn't say anywhere that it needs afc2)

The reason is that Cydia inexplicably just worked (once) so I was able to install OpenSSH and afc2 and "escape" this maze of catch 22. Therefore, I can't test whether it works or not.
