I think the battery of the laptop is giving some problems. Sometimes the battery of the laptop does not get charged when the laptop is connected to the AC Adapter. If the battery of the laptop does not have enough charge then the laptop will not boot. Connect the laptop to the AC source and see if the laptop is charging. If the laptop is charging then let the battery charge for about 3 to 4 hours and then try to boot the laptop. If the battery has enough charge then the laptop will boot without any problem.

The hard drive of the laptop may be failing due to which the laptop is giving such problem. Operating system of the computer is on the hard drive of the computer. If the hard drive of the laptop is not working then the files which are required by the operating system will be inaccessible and hence the system will be freeze frequently. Remove the hard drive of the laptop and then connect the hard drive to some computer in slave mode and see if the hard drive is getting detected. If the hard drive gets detected then download the diagnostic tool and run it on the hard drive. If there are any errors on the hard drive then the hard drive must be replaced. Once the hard drive is replaced you will not face the same problem again.

If the system is not able to access the system memory then the laptop is bound to give such problems. If the system RAM chips are not fixed properly in their respective slots then the system will not be able to access the system RAM. Therefore you can open the laptop and remove the RAM chips from it respective slots. Now clean the connecting terminals of the RAM and connect the RAM back in their respective slots. If there are multiple RAM chips then try booting the system using single RAM chip at a time. If for a particular RAM chip, if the system does not boot then discard the RAM chip as it may be faulty.

Mostly all the laptops face the problem with residual charge. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chip. If the voltage of the residual charge reaches threshold then the system will not be able to access the system RAM and hence will not boot. You will have to clear the residual charge from the laptop so that the system boots. To clear the residual charge, shut down the computer and disconnect it from the external source. Remove the battery and press the power button. Keep the button pressed for about 30 seconds. Replace the battery and then check if the laptop is booting.
