    Car security 12v video cam harddrive

    I have a 12v security camera in my car , It records the video on to a harddrive there is no usb on the system .so i take the harddrive out, and connect to my pc using an ide to usb cable the pc does not see it in my computer but in system properties it sees it in the usb,s as a mass storage device , but i cant gain access to the hard drive. Any ideas on how i can do this.

    What you need to do is, attach the hard drive to your pc, Right Click on my computer, click on manage, then click on Disk Management, Select the drive, right click and select format ( Note : all your data will get erased ). Then record the video and you will be able to access the hard drive.

    Thanks i was hoping to retrieve some of the data on the harddrive
    would there be any way to do this
