The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is simply amazing to look at, being slightly smaller. The camera has been upgraded from 2-megapixels to 3.2 mega pixcel , with autofocus thrown in to bring it into line with the Storm. The new phone echoes the design of the original X1, but improves in nearly every area, with Sony Ericsson taking the lead on construction for the new X2. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is the new flagship smartphone for the electronics giant. Packing the new "Panels" interface, a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G data and 800x480 touchscreen in a full metal body.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 has a nice refined feel to it, and while the keyboard is a little bit on the cramped side, it certainly makes the unit look sleeker. The Bold is 4.29″ x 2.36″ x 0.56″ and weighs in at 4.3 ounces. Size wise, it feels about the same as any other BlackBerry, but it was much lighter.

Re: BlackBerry Bold 9700 vs Sony Ericsson x1

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 mobile phone is quite long and narrow, although also somewhat thick, mainly caused by the sideways sliding QWERTY keyboard. The 800x400 VGA screen is beautiful, considering all that resolution is tightly packed into a 2.8-inch screen. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is a Windows Mobile slider style phone that features a full keyboard along with something that Sony calls Xpanels.

X1 smartphone will include a 3-inch WVGA (800 by 480 pixel) touchscreen that can slide aside to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. Other navigation options will be a four-way key and joystick. The phone is available in two colors: silver or black. The silver model, has an attractive steel finish and feels cool in the hand. The X1 definitely has wow factor and Sony Ericsson really did a nice job on the hardware. In addition, this model will include aGPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and an FM receiver.
