Nokia unveils today the availability of the direct heir of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic which has sold millions of units: the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition.This version is indeed equipped with a special design, license GPS guidance for life for Nokia Maps and various accessories.
For the design part, the edge of the phone now seems to be metal (as on the N97) which brings an undeniable touch of class to the phone. The rest of the phone is black and sober.
But the real novelty is that it offers a navigation license for life for the application "Maps". This application now in version 3.0 I can remember, to plan itineraries or find an address from a PC and synchronize it with his mobile. The application now also includes maps with 3D buildings, traffic information, or horn speed. Finally to complete the pack, it also includes a specific car holder and charger cigarette lighter.
Compatible with EDGE and 3G +, the 5800 XpressMusic runs on the Symbian S60 Touch Interface Touch that allows users to navigate the finger or stylus, the force feedback under finger pressure and accelerometer to switch landscape simply by turning the phone.
Based on the wide screen of 3.2 inches, this new mobile licenses to offer surfing life and DRIVE WALK voice-guided, rapid access to the latest software Ovi Maps and detailed regional maps associated with a zoom function improved.
Concerning the price is yet announced at 285 € HT for release in 4em quarter 2009.
