Razer is well-known for its myriad gaming mice, but the company has recently branched out in an attempt to capture other areas of the PC gaming market. Surround sound headphones are an ideal way to get the performance of a full speaker system but with the portability of headphones . There are some serious tradeoffs- the price of these headphones makes them comparable to some pretty solid sets of 5.1 channel speakers and while the sound quality is good for headphones, they still do not have the rumbling bass of a true subwoofer or the channel differentiation of speakers which are multiple feet from one another.The Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones are a full-size set with extremely comfortable soft fabric, padded ear cups and headband.The Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones is equipped with 8 discrete audio drivers for optimal positional audio uncompromising. In the Barracuda's defense, however, it was much easier to connect, since it was powered by USB and not an AC adaptor. The removable microphone, meanwhile, works great.
