    Toshiba satellite backlight not working

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1800-700. I am having a problem finding all three spots that the backlight plugs into. Recently the backlight has started cutting out, sometimes after flickering a little. Due to which my Toshiba satellite backlight doesn't seems to be working. Can any body tell me that why i'm having such problem? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue.

This problem is caused by being a bad Inverter Board. The inverter basically gives the backlight power to light up. First try it with an external monitor and observe if it behaves the same. If not then you may have a loose video cable, a malfunctioning inverter or a dying LCD.

Re: Toshiba satellite backlight not working

I tested the backlight by powering it from a separate inverter board of a similar laptop and the backlight worked well. It doesn't matter which model of laptop you have. Inverters are integral to most known LCD displays. If you have the same problem on your 1800, then changing the inverter will help.

I guess white and black wires are wireless card antennas and the brown cable is Bluethooth card antenna. If you do not have these modules installed, leave them alone. The pins on the inverter have become oxidised! You need to add some anti-oxidant to the FL Inverter pins.
