Does Unlocked Phones works with Boost Mobile Prepaid Service?

Hi,

I have a boost prepaid phone and i wanna know if I buy an unlocked phone can I put the sim card in the new phone and still use it with boost. I am wondering if you can unlock the sprint/nextel phones to work on boost mobile? Does Unlocked Phones works with Boost Mobile Prepaid Service? Any Ideas ?

I don't recommend anyone because it is not a legitimate process to unlock a device and it can damage a phone, but people do this. Boost Mobile runs on the iDEN network. Thus a phone to work on Boost Mobile must work on the iDEN network, it will not work on Boost Mobile. If you can tell me the make and model of phone you have or are considering, I can tell you if it's iDEN and therefore could work with Boost service.

You would need to program the WAP and MMS settings and wouldn't be able to use the "chirp" feature, but most other things you could. If a Nextel phone is SIM-unlocked, it will work with a Boost Mobile SIM card. Both companies use the iDEN network for service. You may want to ask the seller of the item if the phone is simply unlocked for Nextel, or if it has also been programmed for use on Nextel.

Boost Mobile runs on the iDEN network. Thus a phone to work on Boost Mobile must work on the iDEN network. All other unlocked phones will not work, as they are GSM, and even though they accept a SIM card, they will not work.

I am currently looking at the unlocked motorola L2 Slvr to use on boost mobile network and before I buy it I was wondering if anybody knows if it will work or not... And if not, if there are any suggestions of phones that will work, that are similar..
