Hi,

Help me troubleshooting Dell 1100

I have a problem with my dell 1100 laptop.

The problem is that it got shut down due to low power in battery. Now I am not bale to start it up. The power supply looks Ok since I can see the green light. Do you know what should I do now?

I don't think its a big problem but first you have to try this.
Are you plugged into A/C when this happens?
Can you go to the BIOS & power management feature?
When you power it back up, does it go into full boot or does it come up as if it's been in hibernation?

May be a major part of your lappy has gone bad. May be your display screen.
I suggest you to take your laptop to the authorized center & don't research on your own.
Since You can see the green light means the problem can be solved.
With dell you need to pay high cost to repair I know but you have to do this. Talk to a support person.
Just let us know that it happens when it's in a/c. My assumption is that may be your laptop is being overheated. Do you get any beep sound out of your dell 1100 when you turn it on?

I have a problem with my Dell 1100 too. Do you know what can I do in my case?
The problem is that the screen have a thin line showing on the upside.
I don't exactly tell you what it is? buts its definitely not from the outer side like any scratch or something I think. What should I do to troubleshoot the problem?
Do I have to see the graphic card? or its driver?
I mean do I need to reinstall the graphic card & driver or Its the screen going bad?
