Sony Ericsson is launching its music-entertainment show Pocket TV, which viewers can watch on their show on mobile or on YouTube. Sony Ericsson’s Pocket TV is the mobile manufacturer’s attempt to engage with the digitally-savvy youth audience.

The show will be free to download in five weekly 90-second segments to any handset through a dedicated WAP site (pockettvshow .mobi). It will also be available to watch in longer, three minute segments through a YouTube channel at youtube.com/pockettvshow.

The series will run for 13 weeks and includes interviews, live music sessions and behind-the-scenes reports.

It will also cover other aspects of youth culture, such as comedy, fashion and film. There’s some “citizen journalism”, too, with contributors providing short films about, for example, underage clubbing.The shows will be hosted by Matt Edmondson with help from a number of roving reporters. Segments will feature interviews with artists and bands, live sessions and behind the scenes features.

You can also expect to hear from the likes of Mika, The Gossip, Maximo Park, Jordin Sparks and Marilyn Manson more than 13 weeks. Besides music, Pocket TV will also give more comprehensive what's happening in the comedy, fashion and film, as well as contributions from viewers of video posted on the YouTube channel. You will be able to download the show to your phone through the devoted WAP site - pockettvshow.mobi - or watch it on YouTube in 15 minute program.
