    Sony Ericsson W995a Launched

Sony Ericsson today said it has brought a 3G handset W995a Walkman phone to Americans as an unlocked device. This phone features a massive 8.1 megapixel camera. The slider is Sony Ericsson's most advanced non-touch media phone with Wi-Fi to complement its signature music jukebox applications

The Sony Ericsson W995a featured with Google Maps built-in to show to you where you are—using 3G triangulation, not GPS—and automatically adds your location to your albums.

The W995a is a 3G-enabled phone (850/1900/2100MHz UMTS/HSPA) that’s geared towards folks seeking a premium multimedia experience. Primary functionality includes snapping photos and video, playing music and videos, or accessing the internet, we are satisfied with it’s a high-quality, compact way of doing all that.

The 8.1 meg pixel camera is a powerful Cybershot with face detection, auto-focus, image stabilization, and flash capability. It works like a regular camera flip it on its side and use the screen as a horizontal viewfinder

The phone has got the Media Go software that allows users to easily transfer videos, tracks and other multimedia content from the PC to the phone. This software can also be found on Sony’s PSP The screen is a 2.6 inch QVGA display. The other features of the phone include stereo FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 stereo support, Wi-Fi adapter, and GPS receiver

As by name the phone manufacture did not forget to place dedicated physical playback buttons, supporting all the standard audio formats and including a built-in FM radio with presets. It also has Clear Stereo and Clear Bass technology, which Sony says enhances the audio quality, reduces "channel leakage" and "bass distortion".The clear audio experience enhances the way users listen to music with Clear Stereo technology for reduced left and right channel leakage, and Clear Bass technology for sharp, dynamic bass with minimal distortion. Sony’s Media Go™ software lets owners of the W995a drag and drop videos, tracks and photos between the phone and a compatible PC, making it easier than ever to transfer, play and organize your digital entertainment.

The W995a bundles up an 8GB M2 memory card, 3D and motion control preloaded games. This handset incorporates a flight mode that turns off the radio transceivers of the phone while allowing users to use functions like games, calendar, music player and Blue tooth. It is availablein black, silver and red colors. The W995A will be available in stores and on SonyStyle.com for "about $600" on July 6th.
