Nikon to counter competition from the Canon EOS 350D, has released its reflex input range, the D50. With a sensor DTC Nikon DX format 6 million pixels (the same as the D70), the D50 is ready to shoot in 0.2 sec at a rate of 2.5 per second. The maximum shutter speed is 1 / 4000 sec. It will have an LCD screen of 2 inches and an autofocus system evolved out of 5 zones with predictive monitoring.It has indeed various automated programs to create beautiful images easily. Whatever your subject, there is always a "Vari-program" that setting the camera to obtain the best possible exposure. Simply rotate the mode dial and the D50 takes care of the rest! It is small, light, fits perfectly in hand, offers crisp, bright pictures and can also control the settings for more creative!
The double D50 kit includes the new AF-S DX Zoom-Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED, whose design optical sensors is suitable for Nikon digital SLR. Zoom range equivalent to respectively 27-82,5 mm and 82.5-300mm in format 24x36 mm.To summarize the most important; the D50 has improved auto focus especially in the area of motion tracking, it has a new auto AF mode (which automatically switches between single and continuous AF depending on the subject), it has a lower resolution metering sensor but that sensor is a newer generation than the one used in the D70 (and D70s) - spot metering circle is also larger, the maximum shutter speed is 1/4000 sec, continuous shooting is 2.5 fps.
