    SDHC driver needed for laptop

I have a Kodak Camera and I have just bought a 2Gb SDHC card for it and it works fine in the camera but in when I put it in my laptop reader slot, it cannot read the card. However, if I connect my camera directly in the laptop via a USB, it picks up the card. So therefore, I would like to know if there are any special driver provided to support the SDHC card in my laptop. Thank you

Here is where you can get the drivers.

If you are running windows xp go here to download the patch that allows the use of SD HC cards without an external reader:

Hotfix for Windows XP that adds support for SDHC cards that have a capacity of more than 4 GB

    for vista users go here:

Availability of the Windows Vista Secure Digital (SD) rollup package

SDHC (Secure Digital High-Capacity) cards are flash memory cards with a minimum capacity of 4GB (gigabytes). SDHC cards provide removable memory for compatible digital devices including cameras, camcorders, PDAs, MP3 players and more. Secure Digital refers to a specific format within the flash card market. SDHC cards are designed for devices that are compatible with the SDHC 2.00 specification. Products designed exclusively to support previous SD specifications 1.0 and 1.1 will not be able to utilize SDHC cards.

You can check the above links to download SDHC drivers.

I installed the driver (upon completion of the install it says it may not display properly because it is for a older system, or something like that.)

Then I opened Resco and formatted the card. I thought there was a difference in formatting schemes, but Resco did not offer an option for SDHC formatting, should there have been one? It seems like it's FAT32.
