Toshiba today announced the mini NB205 netbook, a system boasting a large touch pad with 10.1-inch TruBrite screen LED-backlit and a full QWERTY keyboard. The LED-backlit is nominally greener than CCFL-backlit screens and helps the systemand nine hours of battery life, according to the company.
The mini NB205 also comes equipped with a Hard Drive Impact Sensor and a USB port with Sleep-and-Charge (which enables users to charge various consumer electronics devices even when the unit is turned off).The new Toshiba NB205 netbooks will run on the Windows XP operating system and use the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor. In addition, the netbook is equipped with a built-in impact sensor which help to protect its hard drive.
Available in a variety of colors Power efficient, RoHS compliant and meeting the requirements for the the upcoming EnergyStar 5.0 standard, the new Toshiba Mini NB205 weighs 2.9lbs, and should be available in blue, sable brown, white and pink. Price is expected to stay between $350 and $400 depending on the model.
